Essay Questions
We want to learn about who you are. Our goal is to create a Fellowship and a community open to exploring Judaism. To help us accomplish this, please write two essays, double-spaced, two-page maximum per essay, on the following topics.

  1. Think about a situation in which you were faced with an important decision or conflict. Describe the process through which the issue was resolved. Through this process, did you gain any personal insight, or reach a level of self-awareness? In what ways, if any, did your being Jewish have any impact on this decision? In retrospect, would you follow the same procedure? What might you do differently and why?
  2. On campus, you have the opportunity to meet other students from varying backgrounds. Describe a recent group experience when you have had to work with others, unlike yourself (people with different perspectives and ideologies, people from other cultures, or people with different values.) What did you feel you contributed to the group, and how did you benefit from your participation?
